feeling anxious

It's 40 minutes until my online oral exam and right now I just want to run away and hide

But, I've come this far....

and then...

I DID IT! I DID IT! I DID IT!
Thank goodness I was in the first group to be examined so I had less time to hide under the bed

Sadly I was given the text that I least wanted and that least interested me

Sadly it was difficult to get a word in during the group discussion that followed our individual talks and there was much that I was 'wriggling to say'

Interestingly, halfway through my music teacher neighbour began playing his piano fortissimo

Sadly he wasn't playing the Marseillais

I had thought to use a microphone and headset so I hope no-one heard his Beethoven sonata
although it was very pleasant and calming

But I DID IT

For the first time since 1999 I have completed the course
right up to the final oral examination

Of course I may flunk the exam

but

I DID IT!

I couldn't feel more proud if I were standing on the summit of Everest!
or more shaky!

and now to celebrate with a glass of champagne and a minor meltdown

I DID IT, did I say that already?

Well done! I love love love that post-exam feeling. The lows are so worth it for that euphoria :-)

Thank you Anna. Right now I am weeping buckets! But smiling through the tears!

alas Stu, you have a higher opinion of my abilities than me, but thank you

And to do in under your least favorable conditions, Huzzah you!

Hello fellow LabRat. I had to do it or risk being smacked round the head with a keyboard on arrival at the office this morning!

Cait. Thank you kind commenter

Zhoen. Thank you. Yes, being the first to speak and on the worst topic was a shock but at the same time it made me laugh!

When life hands you lemons...

Many congratulations on the achievement. Long may the euphoria last!

I am proud of you! You did it! You are your toughest critic! I feel certain you passed you exam. Take a skip around the green, if your partially repaired wonky knees will allow skipping!

felicitations mon amie - you've now survived something I couldn't complete under any conditions! I knew that if you could survive The Beast, you could survive this!!!

Maybe now, you'll find some time to get back to your book (which I am still anxiously awaiting){:>)

Thank you b. But you could do it, you speak a second language, in fact anyone can do it if they set their mind to it. But my achievement was to have finished the course, it is so significant for me and took such determination and that is my accomplishment, to have finally finished it :-)

operagirl17. I have been criticized all my life but yes, I am my own harshest critic and for good reasons. But today I am indulging in a little back-patting :-)

Claudia, thank you :-)

Leslee, merci bien!

RR, Thank you. The euphoria will keep my warm for a while but now I am looking at the last course and I have already ordered the reading material. Truth to tell, I feel a little lost now...

Jan, thank you, that is very kind

Yes, I remember that the language "lab" was my least favorite thing when I was studying Spanish. I eventually got over my fear.
Hope you did really well, Mouse!

Ficelles de caleçon, Mouse! All that while holding down a full-time job, too. You are marvellous, and don't forget it. xx

Congratulations. I am in awe of your efforts. There would be no way you could get me to sit a French exam at this level! Now you can enjoy the holiday season. I hope that 2013 is everything you wish for. Bisous
